Saftronics provided commissioning services for 14 Robicon medium voltage variable speed drives at Grande Côte Operations SA in Senegal. Installed across the dredge and floating concentrator, the drives ranged in size from 800kW to 4.5MW and were commissioned by Saftronics’ qualified Robicon engineers to ensure reliable operation across the plant.
The variable speed drives are installed within substations located at various positions on the dredge and concentrator, where they provide precise control of critical motors powering pumps, winches and other process equipment. By delivering accurate speed and torque control, the drives contribute to efficient plant operation while improving reliability and reducing mechanical stress on equipment.
Working closely with the project team, Saftronics successfully commissioned each drive and verified its performance under operational conditions. The project demonstrates Saftronics’ expertise in medium voltage drive commissioning and its ability to support large-scale mining and mineral processing operations with specialised technical services.
