Mimbula Phase 1

Saftronics received an order for the manufacturing, delivery and commissioning of an SX EW Rectifier and Transformer from Mimbula Minerals in Chingola, Zambia. The 3.3MW thyristor-controlled 12-Pulse double star in-phase counter parallel connected rectifier system was manufactured and delivered in record time.

Mimbula Minerals Phase 1 project is designed to produce 10ktpa of 0.97 pure copper. The Saftronics supply included, an eHouse sub-station rated at IP40 to house the Thyristor Rectifier and controlling panel including two 25kA motorized isolation switches. Saftronics have since receive a second order from Mimbula Minerals for a 2nd EW Rectifier & Transformer rated at 40ktpa system which will be delivered mid-2023.
